Costs:
The cost of returning goods must be covered by the customer

For our customers outside the EU - Please be aware that we will deduct any import duties or handling fees we incur on the return of 'change of mind' goods from any refund. Your postage or shipping handler may provide you with a 'return of goods' option to select when you are arranging your return which can help reduce these potential fees. It is the customers responsibility to confirm these details with the shipper.

How to do a quick and easy exchange

To exchange online purchases, simply complete a new online order for the desired replacement and return the unwanted Good(s) for a full refund. Your refund will be for the price you paid for the goods not includng any shipping charges.

Whilst we acknowledge that this is technically not an exchange service, it is by far the most efficient and fastest way to ensure that you receive the goods you require.

Warranty returns

If you feel any product you purchased is faulty please contact us or return it to us.

If it is clear upon inspection that the items are faulty, which is not due to wear and tear or the actions of the user, we will offer to repair or replace the item with the identical item or refund you the price you paid for the item.

Sometimes it is not clear if the issue is a result of a manufacturing fault and in these cases we may need to send them to the manufacturer for testing. Many of our suppliers have dedicated in-house testing facilities and repair services. Only if the items are deemed by the manufacturer, upon testing to be faulty and it is not possible to repair or replace the item will you be offered a refund.

Zips are typically not covered under a manufacturer's warranty.

Products do wear out, please don’t take offense when we say that wear and tear is not covered by any warranty. If for example the soles on your shoes or boots are wearing down this is never a warranty issue but if you are interested in investing in having them resoled do please get in touch and we will advise if this is possible and how much it will cost or possibly even advise on a suitable third party repair service.

We cannot make any decisions prior to inspecting any claim. Should the item be found genuinely faulty we aim to reach a fair and agreed solution, which may be a refund, a replacement or a professional repair.

Please note that we may need to send the item to the original supplier or a fully certified testing company to seek an independent and professional assessment; this process can take up to four weeks. Also note that zips are typically not covered under a manufacturer's warranty.

A deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary.

The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop.

Non-warranty defects

Many of our suppliers offer a repair service for damaged or worn goods. If you would like to avail of this service please contact us with details and we will see if it is an option for your product and let you know the costs invoiced.

All returns

  • In all cases goods must be returned to us in a hygienically clean and dry condition. We will not handle items returned to us in unsuitable condition, please remember we are real people too. You will be responsible for any additional shipping costs in returning soiled or otherwise unhygienic items to you. Thank you.

  • We are unable to accept returns for items purchased from any other retailer. In this instance please contact the retailer that you purchased the item from.

  • Please include your receipt or order details with all returns. If you do not have these please contact us prior to returning any goods and we’ll see if we help you track down your purchase information.

With over 1000 years of history, the Way of St. James is one of the classic long distance walks. This historical route along almost 1000 kilometres from the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela offers unique cultural, scenic and nature experiences. Since the Holy Year of 2010 the Way of St. James has gained even more in popularity and attracts more and more people from very different backgrounds, faiths and generations. It does not matter what the reason might be for setting out on the path to Santiago de Compostela - in the end you are confident that you have had a quite special experience. The Rother walking guide describes in a total of 42 stages the whole of the Camino francés from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port via Roncesvalles, as well as the Aragon route from the Somport pass via Jaca to Santiago de Compostela, including possible secondary routes and the extension to Finisterre or Muxía. Thus the Way of St. James leads through a wealth of diverse landscapes, continuously interrupted by culturally and historically interesting places like Roncesvalles, Pamplona, Puente la Reina, San Juan de Ortega, Burgos or Leon, to name but a few. The natural experience dominates at first with the Pyrenean mountains, then the Rioja region characterised by vineyards, followed by the endless barren wastes of the Castillian plateau. But finally, it is the greenery of Galicia that rewards you for all your efforts and deprivations of the long journey, before you reach the climactic destination of Santiago de Compostela. If you still have time, then continuing to the coast, to Finisterre and Muxía, is highly recommended. Detailed maps, precise descriptions of the individual stages including easy-to-read height profiles, as well as comprehensive details of the infrastructure along the way such as medical services, shopping opportunities or banks, make your planning of the walk easier, especially for deviations from the stages described in this guide. Detailed information is also given about the location and standard of accommodation in the pilgrim hostels along the way, graded accordingly with one to three St. James shells. General tips on planning the route and equipment at the start of the book make this walking guide into a compact and practical guide. Special mention is also made of historical and scenic delights, as well as regional peculiarities, local fiestas and culinary specialities. A selection of representative photos provide insights into the diversity of landscape and culture experienced along the Way of St. James.
