Practice What You Preach (With Eoghan Sheehan)

An Adventurer to the Core

In September 2025 Call of The Wild CEO Eoghan completed an incredible 7 day journey across Scandanavia climbing the Highest peak in Sweden, Norway & Finland. Here's Eoghans account.
Monday - Eoghan & Friends flew from Dublin to Tromso (Norway)
Tuesday - drove to Nikkaluokta (Sweden) and hiked 20km in to the base of Kebnekaise
The Top of SwedenWednesday - Climbed Kebnekaise - Long hard 13 hour day.
Thursday - Back to the van and drove to Birtavarre in Norway (closest point to Halti in Finland)Top of FinlandFriday - Climbed Halti- straight forward but arduous seven hour of boulder hopping - definitely not a ‘walk’ - then drove to Tromso.
Saturday - Flew to Oslo and drove to GaldhøpiggenTop of Norway
Sunday - Climbed Galdhøpiggen - technical route crossing glaciers, crevasses and on steep gradients, drove to Lillehammer.

Galdhøpiggen was the most technical of the mountains with the route we chose involving several glacier & crevasse traverses on steep gradients and exposed ridges in near white out sub zero conditions but it was extremely rewarding and we were blessed with a few momentarily glimpses of the surrounding mountains from the summit when the clouds parted before closing in again for our decent.

Monday - Drove to Oslo - visit to Fram Museum to see the ship Amundsen & Nansen sailed on their expeditions - Flew back to Ireland that night

In addition we stopped for lunch in Kiruna the famous town in Sweden where we watched them moving whole buildings as they move a whole town away from an area of subsidence, saw the northern lights shine in Birtavarre and in Norway we were given a tour of Mjøstårnet the tallest wooden building in Europe by Thomas Hisdal Eriksen the local green party representative, this building is an amazing feet of engineering

A full week packing in six months worth of action in just a few days. It was physically challenging so our training really paid off.
